(LifeSiteNews) A Planned Parenthood employee who was cited for DUI after hitting a seven-year-old girl has pulled out of her race for the Democratic nomination for state legislature.

State Democratic Party Chairman Ben Nesselhuf told local media that 32-year-old Carmen Toft planned to pull out of the race before the accident.

Toft, the South Dakota Public Affairs Manager for Planned Parenthood, had sought the Democratic nomination for the state House of Representatives in District 10.
