In the season four finale of NBC’s Parks and Rec, the character Ben Wyatt (played by Adam Scott) ended up accepting a job to work on a congressional campaign. The creative team behind the show decided this would be a great opportunity to film on location in D.C., and when Parks returns in the fall, the characters will get to encounter three sitting senators making cameos on the NBC show.

John McCain, Olympia Snowe, and Barbara Boxer will be appearing in a scene with Amy Poehler‘s character Leslie Knope and the aforementioned Wyatt in an episode scheduled to air on September 27th, according to The New York Times. The three senators shot a “cocktail party scene” today for the episode.
No word yet on whether Ron Swanson will be making a D.C. appearance or whether the stench of big government is going to keep him as far away from Washington as possible.
