It’s Friday and filling the quota for wacky news is Los Angeles City Hall’s resident “gadfly” John Walsh. He showed up to the council’s plastic bag ban hearings… wearing a plastic bag over his head.
Walsh is known for being outspoken at pretty much every single important council hearing. Huffington Post reports that he was there this time in support of the plastic bag ban.
It’s unclear what point he hoped to make when he decided to don a plastic bag as a hat, but we here at Mediaite are all incredibly thankful for the picture that resulted.
And for those not in the know: the council voted 13-1 to approve the ban, which takes effect later this year. Eventually the bill will allow grocery stores to charge a 10-cent fee for paper bags.
Whenever you’re feeling down this Friday, just take a look at that picture and giggle a bit.
